Announcing a New Service: Headquarters Directory Updates (HQ-DU)
All HQ Employees
October 2005
The NASA Headquarters Information Technology and Communications Division is pleased to announce a new service designed to make it easier for you to keep your X.500 directory entry current. The X.500 directory provides other NASA employees with information about you; including your e-mail address, phone number, office, title, location information and phone number. Information in this system is used to update the Headquarters telephone book and also your HEMI Global Address List (GAL) entry. When your X.500 directory is wrong, it makes it more difficult for others to reach you.
The new Headquarters Directory Update (HQ-DU) service will send you an e-mail with an attachment once every three months. The attachment will display the information that currently appears in your X.500 directory entry. If you see that any of the information is no longer current, you can click the "Update" link and instantly correct your X.500 entry.
The first e-mail from HQ-DU will arrive in your Inbox Sunday evening.
We ask that you take the opportunity to review this message from HQ-DU and ensure that your X.500 entry is correct.
Should you have any questions regarding this new service, please contact the Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) at 358-HELP (4357), 1-866-4NASAHQ (462-7247), or http://www.odin.lmit.com/hq/helpdesk/servreqform.cfm
