Reminder: Leave Your PC “On” For NCAD Migration Tonight
Windows users migrating to NCAD on July 15, 2009
July 15, 2009
You are scheduled for migration to the new NASA Consolidated Active Directory tonight after 6 p.m. If a situation has developed such that you are unable to leave your laptop at the office tonight, please e-mail HQ-DL-NCAD-POC immediately to reschedule your migration.
In order to migrate successfully, you must leave your computer powered-on. Restart your computer before you leave the office, as shown below. Laptops must be in their docking station. If you have more than one workstation, please follow these instructions for all of your PC workstations:
1) From the Start menu, choose “Shut down”
2) In the drop-down box under “What do you want the computer to do?” choose “Restart”

3) Click OK. You do not need to wait for the computer to finish restarting before you leave the office. It’s important that you do NOT turn off the power to the computer!
Tomorrow morning, your workstation will automatically default to the NASA Data Center (NDC) as your domain. You will be able to login just as you always do. From now on, however, if you login to Outlook Web Access, Share Point, Check In Check Out or Citrix you will need to manually identify the NDC domain. Please see Instructions for Windows Users After Migration to NCAD.
More information about the NCAD project is available on the NCAD@HQ Web page, including a Frequently Asked Questions document.
Should you need assistance, please call the Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) at 358-HELP (4357) or 1-866-4NASAHQ (462-7247) or send an e-mail.
