New Option to Prevent Secure Nomadic Access (SNA) Sessions from Expiring
By mandate of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), remote connections must be terminated after 30 minutes of inactivity. A new feature will be implemented May 2, 2007 that provides users with the following 5-minute warning message: "Your session will expire in 5 minutes due to inactivity. Please click [OK] to extend your session." If you receive this message, click OK to resume your session. If you do not respond to the message within 5 minutes, per OPM mandate, your SNA session will terminate. The 5-minute warning feature works with the 3 most common internet browsers: Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Firefox. This warning feature is not yet operable with Safari for the Macintosh.
