When a new person comes to work at NASA, their secured identity and credentials, such as their badge, SecurID token, or UserID and password can be used to provide them with access to the facilities and IT systems they need to do their job. These are managed using the Identity Management and Account Exchange (IdMAX).

IdMAX supports the Agency’s integrated and authoritative Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) program which manages NASA identities, credentials, and access to NASA facilities and information technology (IT) systems.

IdMAX consists of the following toolset:

• Identity Management
• Credential Management
• NASA Access Management System (NAMS)
• User Self-Service

Everyone with a NASA identity, active IdMAX account, and access to the NASA network may use NAMS.

Identity Management
The first step in the ICAM processes is to create, modify, or terminate a NASA identity. Also, use this tool to request a guest user account or an invitational traveler.

Once a NASA identity has been created, you can manage NASA credentials. Use this tool to request or view a smartcard reissuance or renewal.

Request changes to your NASA e-mail address, your directory display name, and your contact information for NASA notifications.
