The Remote User Identity tool is a sub process of the Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process. This tool is used to request a badge and IT access for a worker who does not require physical access to a NASA facility and who resides more than 50 miles away.
The Remote User Identity tool is accessed through the Identity and Access Management System (IdMAX). To access the Remote User Identity Service, you must have an IdMAX account (see instructions for obtaining an IdMAX account).

Temporary and remote users may be interns, civil servant employees on detail to NASA from another federal agency, contractors, grantees, or anyone who will not receive a permanent badge.
To Obtain an IdMAX account
You must have an IdMAX account to use the tools within the IdMAX system. To activate your IdMAX account, visit idmax.nasa.gov and click on “First Time User.”
