This is an Agency service. ITCD provides this Web page as a courtesy to HQ users.
Large File Transfer (LFT) service is an alternative solution to sending and receiving e-mail messages with large file attachments. Accellion is the appliance (tool) selected to provide LFT service to the Agency. This service allows you to send and receive files, up to 10 GB, to other NASA users or individuals outside the Agency, without impacting the space available in your mailbox.
Accessible to NASA Only
Click here to login to LFT
Enter your e-mail address or Agency UserID and password
The LFT service is also available to users external to NASA who receive an invitation extended by a NASA user who has migrated to the NASA Consolidated Active Directory (NCAD). This invitation occurs in the form of a file being sent to the external user. Users must have an NCAD-enabled, OneNASA Account in order to initiate the LFT service.
How does LFT work?
When a file is sent, the recipient receives an e-mail message with a link to the temporary file location instead of the large attachment. The recipient has 7 days to download the file by clicking the link and logging in. External users will register and will use a temporary password of their choice.
Files sent using LFT are scanned for viruses and sent securely using SSL. However, please remember to use encryption when necessary. If you would normally encrypt the file before sending it by e-mail, encrypt it before sending it using LFT.
LFT will not replace your e-mail or any File Transfer Protocol (FTP) system currently in place.
Distribution Lists
The use of distribution lists when using the LFT service is not recommended. In order for the Accellion appliance to send messages, it must expand the distribution list and send the message to each individual recipient. For various reasons, some distribution lists do not expand, which will result in some recipients not receiving the message
